If it’s entertainment you are after then look no further than Mildenhall Stadium this Saturday evening (7pm start). The annual Snail Racing evening, hosted by Kevin Long, has proved a massive success in the last couple of years and this year it promises to be even more exciting with the added bonus of the first Celebrity Club draw plus the announcement of the teams for the Fen Fours meeting that will open the clubs 2017 season.

The snail racing event always proves popular amongst supporters as a card of ten races including the opportunity to sponsor your own snail gets everyone digging deep in their pockets. Kevin Long’s inimitable commentaries are worth the £2.00 entrance fee alone (racecard included) and the fun gets underway at 7pm. As always the fish and chip shop (from 6pm) and bar will be open!

The Celebrity Club draw has already proved a very popular new idea and already over 50 supporters have joined, there will be a final opportunity to join on Saturday evening ahead of the first draw that will see two cash prizes which will be announced once membership closes plus a third prize of a Mildenhall Fen Tiger Cubs race jacket from 2016!

The second running of the Fen Fours sees teams sponsored by Manchetts (last year’s victors), Assured Services, Palmer and Sons and Browns Builders. The teams will be drawn out during the evening and will feature all seven 2017 Fen Tigers, Ex-Fen Tiger and double British U21 Champion Josh Bates plus eight more riders to be announced on Saturday. Supporters will also find out who the four teams will be managed by with promoter Kevin Jolly’s only clue being that all four are ‘well known ex-riders with major Suffolk connections!’

Kevin Jolly is hoping that as many supporters as able can attend Saturday’s final get together before the season gets underway, he said “Hopefully we can fill the Fenman Bar on Saturday evening for what promises to be a great evening’s fun with something for everyone. This season has the same exciting feel to me as 2011 when I first became involved back at Mildenhall and Saturday evening is the perfect way to kick-start it!

The brilliant Kevin Long will be hosting the evening and I am sure the Fen Fours draw will not only provide plenty of drama but our supporters will be excited by the field we have put together”
