The ‘KJM/Manchetts’ Fen Tigers commence a potentially season defining nine day period where they will race five league fixtures this weekend with a home and away double versus the Coventry ‘Bees’.

Coventry will arrive at West Row on Saturday evening (7.30pm start) boosting three ex-Fen Tigers in their line up. Number One Connor Mountain, Jon Armstrong and Luke Ruddick all have at least three years experience with the Fen Tigers and all featured in the 2017 team. Whilst this all points to a close affair on Saturday the home side will be in excellent spirits following their fine last heat victory at Birmingham recently. They also will welcome back Sam Bebee following a spell out with injury, the teenager returning in one of the reserve berths. Recent results have seen more teams close in on the Play-Offs with seven of the leagues ten teams currently chasing the four places available.

Following Saturdays fixture, the Fen Tigers head to Beaumont Park, Leciester on Sunday (6pm), the current home of the Bees, looking to keep their unbeaten away record in the National League.

Kevin Jolly was in no doubt of the need to keep pushing on, he said “We have put ourselves in a decent position in the League but it is early days yet as we have only ridden a third of our fixtures. This weekend will be a big challenge for us as Coventry have riders who know our circuit very well and ride it equally well! We must stay focused and show the team spirit we did at Birmingham and keep picking up wins home and away.

We have Sam (Bebee) back this weekend and I feel now he is at reserve he can really kick on and we are hopeful too that Jordan (Jenkins) is getting closer to a return. We have home and away fixtures next week against Belle Vue and a visit to Buxton and I am looking for a big return from the eighteen points available to us!”
