The ‘KJM/Manchetts’ Fen Tigers completed a perfect weekend with a mauling of the Buxton ‘Hitmen’ this afternoon to make it seven out of seven points from their two meetings. Fourteen heat winners today told the story as the Fen Tigers dominated from start to finish increasing their lead at the head of the National League table to eleven points.

Heat one saw Ben Wilson make the gate, but first Drew Kemp (bend two) then Ryan Kinsley (bend four) swept past the Buxton number one before the first lap was complete to claim an opening 5-1. An exclusion following a fall for Sam Bebee when well placed saw heat two shared, and heat three followed a similar pattern after Josh Bailey was unfortunately excluded following what looked like a clean pass before Woolley came down. Heat four saw ‘master blaster’ Danny Ayres leave everyone in his wake as he stormed to victory. Further win for Kemp and Ayres in heats five and six saw the lead increase to ten points as the Fen Tigers took full control.

Bailey and captain Jordan Jenkins combined for a fine 5-1 in heat seven and this was quickly followed by another from Kinsley and Bebee as the Fen Tigers swept into an eighteen point lead. Ayres was at it again in heat ten with another super fast ride whilst in heat eleven Bailey produced one of his trademark passes to defeat Wilson. The Fen Tigers continued to pile on the heat with victories for Jenkins and Ayres again and the final heat saw another 5-1 from Kemp and the unbeaten Ayres as the Fen Tigers closed out the meeting 50-28.

Kevin Jolly was pleased with his team’s performance, he said “The lads showed a lot of desire this afternoon, the track wasn’t the easiest to start with but they really attacked their racing and were not going to be denied. Every rider scored at least a paid win and everyone contributed to a fine team performance.

Danny (Ayres) was really on fire today, after showing plenty of speed last night, and fully deserved his return and with our top five contributing fifty points between them the result was never in doubt. The last five days has seen us really strengthen our position at the top of the table, but we must not ease off and looking at these lads I am no doubt that will not be the case!”
